Message from the President

Answering the Needs of Japanese Agriculture

The Kamichiku Group originated in cattle farming, beginning over forty years ago with just four dedicated individuals. Through strategic timing, strong partnerships, and a clear commitment to our vision, we have achieved consistent growth and expanded our operations significantly.

Driven by our mission to connect the passion and quality of producers with consumers worldwide, we have spent the past four decades refining our unique six-faceted industrialization model. Today, we are advancing that model further with a strategic focus on global expansion, positioning Kamichiku Group as a competitive force in the international food industry.

My father, a devoted shochu enthusiast, spent countless evenings with his three sons, reflecting on life over dareyame, a cherished tradition of sharing drinks and conversation.
Among the many lessons he imparted, one remains a guiding principle in my professional journey:

“Agriculture is fundamental. It sustains life and empowers communities.
Yet, farmers rarely have control over pricing, making it difficult to earn a stable living. That’s why the eldest son should become Kagoshima’s leading cattle farmer.
The second son (me) should build a business that ensures those cattle reach the market with integrity and value.
And the youngest should create a restaurant that brings the story full circle, transforming our family’s work into memorable culinary experiences.”

Through these words, my father not only revealed the challenges of agriculture but also outlined a vision: a vertically integrated model that honors tradition while driving value across the entire food supply chain.

This philosophy continues to inspire our mission to elevate the worth of agricultural products through strategic collaboration, market insight, and innovation.

That early lesson laid the foundation for what is now the Kamichiku Group’s integrated business model. Headquartered in Kyushu, we have built a comprehensive value chain that spans every stage of the livestock and meat industry, from feed production and livestock farming (cattle and pigs) to meat processing, logistics, retail, and food service. This end-to-end approach, which we call our Six-Faceted Industrialization Model, serves as the cornerstone of our operations.

By fully integrating each phase of the supply chain, we not only enhance product value and quality but also drive regional revitalization and industry innovation. Our model strengthens local economies, promotes sustainability, and redefines how agriculture-based businesses can grow with impact.

Modern agriculture faces urgent, complex challenges. As global populations grow and climate change accelerates, traditional production methods are no longer sufficient.
Ensuring a stable food supply with limited resources now demands sustainable, innovative solutions.

At Kamichiku Group, we are committed to building a future-ready agricultural and livestock industry.
We utilize idle farmland to cultivate rice and feed crops, recycle livestock byproducts, and implement environmentally responsible practices across our operations.
Our processing facilities adhere to the highest global standards for hygiene and quality, ensuring food safety from farm to table.
Agriculture today must go beyond production to meet social and environmental responsibilities while securing the future of food.

Guided by our Six-Faceted Industrialization Model, we’re not only strengthening local food systems in Japan, but also expanding globally.
Through Wagyu exports and international food service ventures, we’re sharing Japan’s culinary excellence while exchanging agricultural expertise.

We believe food has the power to connect people and cultures, and addressing global food challenges is a mission we must face together.

Our vision

At Kamichiku, we’re committed to redefining agriculture for the next generation and making agriculture “attractive”. We believe the future of the industry depends on creating an environment where young people are inspired to participate, lead, and innovate.

Our goal is to develop a new generation of agricultural professionals by offering meaningful opportunities and a clear vision for the future. Agriculture must evolve beyond production. It must become a forward-thinking industry that embraces environmental and social responsibility while nourishing the world.

By fostering fresh ideas and collaborating with young talent, we aim to transform agriculture into a source of pride, purpose, and progress. As the foundation of life itself, agriculture will play an increasingly vital role in shaping sustainable societies—both in Japan and around the world.
